National FFA is also hiring for a Local Program Success Specialist – Northeast Region. JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of this position is to sustain and grow relationships with state education leaders providing capacity for local program success. Establish and maintain relationships with teacher educators and provide assistance in training of resources for local teachers while they are in teacher training programs. A key function is to provide targeted professional development to local teachers, teacher educators and state agricultural education staff in assigned states. Support the development of cooperative relationships for state Team Ag Ed with key partners in same state and ‘curriculum and instructional materials’ for local and state program improvement. Coordinate and communicate with internal staff and teams to ensure customer satisfaction and local program success. Provide assistance in gathering needed data, tracking progress of programs and supporting Team Ag Ed partners to keep agricultural education strong and growing is a huge function of Local Program Success specialist. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Establish and maintain relationships with state leadership as well as assist with the development of state leadership vision and planning for local program success in order to develop a more seamless system of development and support of agricultural education information and resources. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of agricultural education philosophy and models in relationship to the FFA Mission. Build relationships with student teachers and practicing teachers at respective state teacher training institutions in order to develop a strong relationship providing professional development, resources, and support among those individuals as they become teacher leaders in their state. Serve as an ‘expert or lead’ consultant to National FFA staff and customers in the delivery, budgeting, development/management and processing of programs where expertise is an asset or is recognized. Assist in establishing and supporting programs, program standards and guidelines in alignment with the FFA’s mission and vision in order to deliver professional development through a variety of means. Develop training plans and procedures. Manage budget and contacts to ensure financial responsibilities. Perform the mental and physical demands of the position. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Team player with the ability to work independently in a frequently changing environment. Outstanding interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication and project management skills. Interact, influence and work with a diverse group of internal/external people. Provide excellent customer service to internal and/or external customers. Effectively prioritize, organize, use time-management skills, and be adept at multi-tasking. Accurate, detailed-oriented, with the ability to problem solve/analyze. Computer proficient and be able to make and receive phone calls. Confident in speaking in front of small and large groups. Provide the ability to mentor/coach, manage functions and work closely with staff and key partners. Offer a high level of expertise in multiple program areas of agricultural education and/or FFA as shown by experience/success in said area of expertise. Must be able to provide technical assistance, information and communication regarding the FFA Mission and NFFA Programs, the 7 Keys to Local Program Success, National Ag Ed Council initiatives, etc. Overtime may be required. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in agricultural education or related agriculture degree required. Masters preferred. EXPERIENCE: Eight to 10 years of relevant experience required with three years at a state/national level of management/supervisory experience preferred.
