National Forecast from Met Eireann 23 November 2014 19:52 Today Cold and mainly dry overnight, with a sharp to severe ground frost under clear skies and some icy patches on roads. Lowest temperatures - 2 to plus 2 C. Some pockets of fog are likely also. Light variable or southerly breezes, will freshen in western areas towards morning Tomorrow Frost and fog lifting fairly readily in the morning. But sunshine will become more hazy, as cloud increases from the west. Rain in western coastal areas, will spread eastwards gradually, but will become light and patchy as it does so. A clearance will develop in the west later. Top temperatures 7 to 10 C. Outlook Clearer conditions in the northwest will bring temperatures down below freezing there but elsewhere cloud and outbreaks of rain may linger through the night. Winds will be light variable and fog patches are likely again. Lowest overnight temperatures will vary, sub zero in the northwest with frost there and temperatures more typically between 3 and 5 degrees in cloudier areas. Therell be some rain or showers in places on Tuesday mostly the coastal areas, but itll become largely dry with some bright or short sunny spells developing. Highest temperatures of just 5 to 8 degrees, are expected with light mainly south or southeast winds. Another very cold and frosty night on Tuesday night, with temperatures below freezing in many places and the risk of icy patches. Mostly dry on Wednesday but with high pressure and little or no wind fog may be slow to clear, especially from the midlands. If this happens temperatures may linger below 5 degrees well in to afternoon. Closer to coasts is more likely to be sunny with temperatures more typically around 8 degrees in the afternoon so still quite cold. A change for Thursday as an increasing southerly winds will bring cloud and rain in to Atlantic coasts. Itll be fair in the east with the rain only making slow progress eastwards as the day goes on. The northeast of the country will probably stay dry throughout. The southerly flow will bring milder air and the night is unlikely to be frosty. Friday will see rain in the south and in the west, sometimes heavy, and it will be another mild and breezy day. Changeable and unsettled weather is expected for the weekend with night time temperatures back below freezing again. met.ie/forecasts/
