National Forecast from Met Éireann. 01 October 2013 05:13 Today Outbreaks of rain today, often heavy with a chance of thundery downpours, leading to localised flooding. Fog will persist on parts of the south coast. Highest temperatures will range form 15 or 16 degrees in the north and east to 18 or 19 degrees in parts of the west. Southeast winds will be moderate, occasionally fresh. Tonight Another very mild and humid night with rain for a time in all areas and a chance of local heavy downpours again. It will continue quite murky along south coasts. Temperatures will fall no lower than 12 to 15 degrees in moderate southeast winds. Tomorrow Not much change on Wednesday. It will be mainly overcast with showery outbreaks of rain and some heavy downpours with further spot flooding. Despite the cloud and rain, it will be a very mild day with afternoon temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees. Southeast to south winds will be moderate to fresh. Outlook Further periods of rain will occur widely on Wednesday night, while Thursday is likely to be wet in most places with the ongoing risk of flooding in some parts of the country, most likely in eastern counties. Persistent, mainly fresh southeast winds will keep temperatures well up to normal for early October with very mild nights, but it will feel cooler in the wet conditions. The rain should finally leave the east on Thursday night and a clearance to showers will spread from the west. Friday will be a fresher day with sunny spells and scattered showers; the showers will die out later in the day. Winds will veer westerly and will moderate. Dry and bright conditions are likely to hold for much of Saturday next, although outbreaks of rain seem set to reach the north and west overnight in to Sunday. It looks like winds will turn southwest on Saturday, bringing mild or very mild conditions back over Ireland and afternoon temperatures are likely to reach the high teens again.
