National Symbols: Laxana Paskaran at Speak Tamileelam Toronto youtu.be/9Lih3q8SnU0 Reflecting on her experiences and upbringing as a Canadian Tamil student, Laxana bridges the preservation of Canadian identity in society with the importance of preserving Tamil identity. Laxana has stood firm on incorporating her Tamileelam national identity in everything she takes part in, with Tamil and non-Tamils alike. She strongly believes that it was her duty to ensure that she has instilled her identity on her university campus, and encourages youth to be active participants in the struggle for Tamileelam. In the struggle for liberation, the people shall not be only spectators, but shall change into direct participants - National Leader of Tamileelam, Hon. Velupillai Pirapaharan. Laxana is currently pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science at the University of Toronto - Scarborough Campus and is the former president of her the Tamil Students Association at the University of Toronto - Scarborough Campus. She continues to be an active member in the Tamil student community and in her campus Students Union. Speak Tamileelam is a conference where youth showcase their talents, ideas, experiences and personal stories in which they have contributing to free Tamileelam. Everyone has their passions and possess a variety of talents; Speak Tamileelam seeks to inspire youth alike to pursue their passions and talents to make a difference in this world and to free our homeland Tamileelam.
