Nationalism that played in the hands of left-leaning former and present senators who were responsible for the ouster of the US military bases in the Philippines in order for them to continue to loot the national treasury without the roving presence of the US personnel in the country. Again we are wondering why American multinational companies did not put up shop in the country for the much-needed technology transfer in the late 80s and 90s and instead moved their facilities in Thailand and China? Ask the KMU, TUCP and other left-leaning labor unions which were very restive and militant to raise the minimum wage at the expense of creating stable manufacturing jobs by these foreign companies which made the country less competitive with our neighbors in the region. We can now see the end result of that disaster of a dysfunctional nation that exports its skilled labor for job overseas because these militant labor unions were instrumental in killing the geese that could have laid the golden eggs. Until now RP has a very weak manufacturing base and China & Thailand took those opportunity from us. Who are we blaming now?
