Native forests are facing a new threat in NSW. The same government - TopicsExpress

Native forests are facing a new threat in NSW. The same government that decided to open National Parks for hunting has now required the Environment Protection Authority to consult on removing a ban that currently prohibits use of native forests for electricity. This proposal targets forests currently used for woodchipping, and species that are too hard or too red to be used in paper and pulp production. This includes prime koala habitat such as the forests of red gum, iron bark, bloodwood, grey box and woollybutt.
