The Antique province was jolted by a magnitude 5.7 earthquake on the afternoon of Friday, as reported by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology; adding that there were reports of damage in some areas and aftershocks are expected. The tremor struck at 4:05 p.m. with its epicenter 5 kilometers southeast of the town of Culasi at a depth of 14 kilometers and was disclosed to be tectonic in origin. According to Phivolcs, the quake was felt at: Intensity VI in Culasi, Antique. Intensity V in Kalibo, Aklan; Sebaste, Pandan, Lauan and Libertad (Antique) Intensity IV in San Jose, Sibalom and San Remegio (Antique) Intensity III in La Carlota City, Roxas City, Ilo-ilo City Intensity II in Cebu City Intensity I in Zamboanga City As of writing, the local government of Culasi disclosed there was no reported damage to properties in their area so far, but a man, Milo Estocado, 53, was injured when he fell from a house during the tremors which resulted to a fractured left foot, as reported by ABS CBN. Some dishes, windows broken. Unstable objects overturned. Pendulum clocks may stop. VI. Felt by all, many frightened. Some heavy furniture moved; a few instances of fallen plaster. Damage slight.
