Ndimyake Mwakalyele WASHINGTON DC— The appointments of former Justice Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa and former diplomat Phelekezela Mphoko as vice president-elects, has raised questions about their significance to President Robert Mugabe’s security and ability to revive the economy. For perspective, VOA Studio 7’s Ndimyake Mwakalyelye turned to two South African-based independent analysts Mlamuli Nkomo and Paul Chimosva. Chimhosva said while the two men’s sacrifice to the country is unquestionable, what still remains unanswered is their ability to help President Mugabe take the country forward. The two appointees are set to be sworn-in Friday in Harare. Mr. Mugabe sacked his previous deputy, Mrs. Joice Mujuru, claiming that she wanted to undemocratically remove him from power.
