Nearly 400 people attended the second annual job fair we hosted on Friday at South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois. Thanks to the seventy-five employers with active job openings who were on hand to accept resumes and interview job-seekers. This year’s hiring initiative was an even bigger success than 2013 because we used feedback from last year to improve the format. Many of the job seekers participated in one of the five Job Search Boot Camps I organized leading up to the Hiring Event, so they came well prepared with quality resumes, improved interview skills and a good understanding of how to successfully navigate a hiring event.
