Nearly six years ago I assembled the first official Ektoplazm compilation under my DJ Basilisk guise. It was my intention to capture something of the vibrant diversity of the nascent free psytrance movement, of artists going against the grain and experimenting with less fashionable approaches simply for the love of the music. Its a wild and wooly ride full of rough and ready sounds without many polished edges, but that was how things were back in the beginning... dust it off and give it a spin if you havent done so in a while.
