Need a bit of help with my horsey. Please be nice, Im only trying to learn and understand my boy better. When ridden he almost always seems to have his mouth open. He pulls his lips back and shows his teeth and chomps the bit a lot. Even when hes working well and seems relaxed he still does it. Ive tried different bits, hes had a full vet check, full physic and thermal imaging check, saddle checked, teeth checked, feet checked etc. He is currently ridden in a comfort bridle with a chunky eggbutt snaffle with a losenge. He does it in this bit plus Ive tried many others including NS verbindend, straight bar pelham, snaffle ring of a vaquero bit, soft rubber loose ring etc. The last thing I want to do is strap his mouth shut with a drop or flash noseband as I feel that would just mask a problem. Any suggestions? Looks very unsightly at shows especially as I dont feel he is uncomfortable or tense. At a loss!
