Need to fine tune the selection process : Killers in the garb of cops - The Sangai Express Editorial :: September 27, 2014 - For years, the State Police Department and its personnel have been making the news for all the wrong reasons and once again it is in the news and again for all the wrong reasons. A one man show it was, making it all that more shameful. The Sangai Express joins the State Police Department, the State Government, the family members, friends and others in mourning the death of the police personnel who was shot dead in the night of September 25 by a ‘deranged’ man, after hijacking his vehicle near PCTC oil pump. It was not just the act of a man who had ‘lost his mind’ but also painted a poor picture of the State police personnel for how does one explain the fact that it took but one single man to open fire at a group of policemen and hijack a vehicle and later shoot the driver dead.
