Needs work, as I say windows to much, and a bit redundant in place - TopicsExpress

Needs work, as I say windows to much, and a bit redundant in place :-P I came to the front entrance, it was a massive double door set, the doors where bright red and pictures of hats all over them. The knocker it’s self was a hat and the doorknob. “I believe it is rude to enter a home before knocking even if the home is abandoned, which for all I know it could not be. Imagine my shock to find a family at the dinner table eating away as I stumble inside? They may call the police, if they have police here, where ever here is…” I decided to knock, so I grabbed the top hat knocker and knocked as loud as I could. I waited for what I thought to be a respectable amount of time before I took the hat door knob and tested it. It was a bit rusty but it opened easily enough. I stepped inside and looked around, the walls were covered in leafy vines, some had crawled across the walls and some were even across the ceiling. The floor was littered with dead leaves, and flowers and even grass. There were patches of grass everywhere, just like outside. There was one patch that had flowers growing; it was very pretty, but very odd to see indoors. A little further down the hall was a tree, an actual live trees growing inside the house, the roots had ripped up the floor, so you could see the dirt below it. Its branches had pushed through the ceiling and had continued to grow on up. The tree must still be in the house, as I think I would have noticed a tree growing out of the ceiling. I called out again, in case no one heard me the first time or my knock. “Hello?” Again there was no response; I was starting to think I was alone here. Even worse, I doubted there was a phone to use. I decided to check out the first floor and walked into the living room. It was a big grand living room, with a wall of floor to ceiling windows. There were your usual living room items, chairs, couches, TV’s, a fireplace almost as big as the wall it was in. On the opposite wall was a floor to ceiling book shelves with hundreds of books on it. It was very nice, but it also had the same look the house did, unused and abandoned for quite some time now. It was very dark, dank and musky. Everything had a thick coating of dust over it, but also a layer of dirt on top of that. The ceiling looked very moldy and had severe water stains on it. You could see where part of the wood had molded and fell to the floor below. The wallpaper also had a moldy stained look and had started to peel near the top and was hanging down half way. The wall closest to the outside and the windows, had moss growing on it, and weeds had started to sprout there also. Flowers and weeds had pushed through the open windows and had taken up most of the floor in front of the windows. The wood around the windows had molded and rotted, in some places there was no floor, only patches of grass with pretty flowers blooming. Some places where water had seeped in through cracks in the walls and floors had moss growing. It was quite a site to see, but also so sad to see such a beautiful room go to waste. - Gotta love google images!!! I just type in "abandoned living rooms" and then just combine my favorites into my story! ^_^
