Neighbours in Poplar would like to promote the following brave adventurer: I am Andrew Madray, a security officer at Tower Hamlets College. On 1st September 2014 I will be attempting to climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise money for a local charity called SPLASH. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest freestanding volcano in the world. It stands 5,895 metres (19,341ft) tall and will take five days in total to climb and descend. SPLASH is a registered Charity which has worked with young people in the Blackwall / Limehouse area of Tower Hamlets for the last 25 years. Their current priority project, SAFE (SPLASH Action For Employment), is working with young people to get them off the streets and stairwells and help them into work. I am trying to raise enough money to pay for Security training and Licenses for 12 young people.
