Netball Hutt Valley Awards 2013 Netball Hutt Valley Awards for Schools 2013 Coach of the Year – Wi Kiwha Koraunui School Wi Kiwha, is a wonderful father who has coached the Koraunui school team for the past four years. He has worked extremely hard to support and encourage the girls to persevere in their netball techniques. Over the past years the team have grown and blossomed in netball. Wi Kiwha is a tough netball coach, who sacrifices his spare time (during holidays, finishes early to get to practice) to support, pushes and trains the girls to perform their best on court. I take my hat off to this father who has taken the girls under his wing and has worked hard to push them to take risk and to love the game of netball. From small hoops to making it to Primary One is a huge achievement for our school. From my observation, I have seen these girls become confident individuals. They display good leadership skills and fair play at school. Therefore, I personally feel that this man deserves the credit of all his hard Volunteer of the Year – Dale Stechman St Peter & Pauls Dale Stechman is at the courts every Saturday seemingly all day on most days. I am not sure of her official capacity within HV netball but she makes an outstanding contribution towards umpiring. Whether umpiring herself or mentoring new and aspiring young umpires, she is always there as a positive role model and support. Dale has totally supported the girls from Ss Peter & Paul who have attended junior whistlers and has the girls coming through, umpiring games each Saturday. This has been so beneficial for these girls to gain experience and for team coaches to know they will always have someone to umpire their games. Dale will always come and mentor when she is not umpiring herself or coaching her own team, and always offers the most positive support.
