Nevada State Journal November 5, 1913 APPLE SHOW TO TRAVEL ON WHEELS SPOKANE, Wash., Nov. 4--Every big city in the east will be invaded with a traveling apple show in December, assembled from the pick of every fruit district in the Pacific Northwest. Two or three large carloads of first prize winners at the sixth national apple show and fruit products congress to be held in Spokane November 17 to 22 will be shipped east to make the journey from end to end of the railroads, stopping one week to be displayed in prominent show windows of the large cities. Exhibitions are to be made at the following cities: Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Buffalo, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Boston, St. Louis, Cleveland, Baltimore, Pittsburg, and Cincinnati. The purposes of the traveling apple show are to increase apple consumption and to familiarize the east with the fancy product of the Pacific Northwest. The railroads are cooperating with Spokane citizens to handle to eastern exhibitions.
