Never Separated Wednesday, September 17, 2014 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10, NIV Good Morning My Brothers and Sisters in Christ, More often than not we don’t appreciate the blessing of good health until one day we wake up and discover that it’s not so good. As you age you will begin to realize that we have mortal bodies. Throughout life we may have minor sicknesses that are unpleasant to deal with at the time, but we make a speedy recovery and think nothing of it from that day on. However there may come a time when a routine doctor’s visit will result in a diagnosis that requires a follow-up visits with a specialist who then recommends surgery or serious medical intervention in order to fix the issue. This appointment leaves us feeling disheveled because this time we aren’t promised a speedy recovery. Even as believers fear can take a grip in our hearts and we wonder what will happen, and whether we will be permanently disabled or we fear the worst – death. Our life situations will also have a great impact on our behavior to such bad news. What about my family? There are so many items on your bucket list of dreams yet to be fulfilled? And then we struggle with the financial impact of the illness. With every question also comes with a new level of fear. God never promises that life will be easy but He did assure us that He will be with us every step of the way- and this we know. He didn’t say that there wouldn’t be times where you wanted to give up. He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to comfort you. He didn’t say you would always know what’s next. He promised great strength for today and bright hope fortomorrow. If this is something that you are struggling with today, Jesus wants you to know that your life is in His hands. There is nothing that can ever separate you from His unconditional love. Romans 8:38 puts it so beautifully “I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death or life…” That also means there is no disease or sickness or bad marriage or broken relationship or pink slip from work or troubled teen or addiction or lust or bad choices or anything else that is consuming your thoughts; there is nothing that can separate you from God’s love. Jesus himself is with you in the midst of all you are going through. He is calling you to give Him all of your fears and all of your worries about tomorrow. Turn over your life into His hands and receive the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding. Be encouraged today and leave the final outcome to Him. God has exalted Jesus to the highest place and given Him a name that is above all names. I don’t know what your situation is named today but I do know that there is a name above that name. You may be dealing with a sickness today but I know a name that is above that sickness and it’s Jehovah! Look yourself in the mirror and shout it out today. Find your peace wrapped up in His name. Enjoy and appreciate every day that you are blessed with, and when the time comes for you to be joined with the Father in heaven, know that death has no victory and love will triumph.
