Do you have a passion to help and protect Canadian children? My name is Alfredine (Linda) Plourde, Founder of Protecting Canadian Children. We are a volunteer organization advocating on behalf children who have been harmed while in care of Canadian protective agencies. We are looking for motivated individuals to expand or team of volunteers. Please join us in helping to make a positive difference in the lives of children across Canada. Protecting Canadian Children offers you the opportunity to play an incredible role in ensuring the protection of children under the reign of social services, judicial authorities and other bodies responsible for the welfare and protection of children. Our work comes straight from the heart. History has shown time and time again that individuals who unite with a common cause empower themselves to effect change. Protecting Canadian Children has set out to unite people from all walks of life to work towards an end to a broken system and to improve the lives of Canadian families. Protecting Canadian Children has been built solely on volunteer efforts. We are united on unshakable principles, built on the core values of integrity, and we operate in truth. We feel and know the need is significant to pursue a clear and compelling vision as a team to “revitalize today’s child protective services”. The challenges that families have faced under Child Protection Services in their everyday lives are representative of the larger problems felt by families around the world. The system is broken. We are losing too many children either in foster care, by members of family, caregivers, Ontario institutions – they all link somehow to child protective services. Regardless of how we got to this point, the end result is we are here, and we must do something to protect our children and our youth. Protecting Canadian Children members aboard are gifted and devoted people, and there is no finer example than Velvet Martin, co-founder of Protecting Canadian Children. She is a soft-spoken, professional mother who is a devoted champion and a hero to all. Velvet is especially known for her advocacy work on behalf of the powerless, particularly special needs children who are abused in care. Protecting Canadian Children represents the potential of all families to change the system. We demand that our children, and our elderly, should not be a profitable business for big corporations which are responsible for shareholders. People across Canada and around the world are starting to listen. If just a small group of people can positively affect and help the lives of so many families now, just imagine what can be accomplished – if the people of this nation unite, “the impact of one voice”, “the power of many” together, can change the world.
