Never truly did I appreciate a ride on a jetski until we finally - TopicsExpress

Never truly did I appreciate a ride on a jetski until we finally had the chance to do it earlier. The ride was going smoothly as we were going further into deeper waters - gently but furiously bumping each wave as we go. It was time to go back and turn when we got off-balanced and all fell into the deep water. Falling did not scare me initially - I thought the water was shallow as I could see the clear sand below. However I jolted with panic as I could not feel any sand below my feet - the water was much too deep! And to my terror as I looked right beside me my friend was fighting visciously to keep afloat as she, like me, did not know how to swim. Our lead told us to stay calm but it was too difficult to stay composed when youre busy trying to keep afloat. My friend who was then tugging at my shirt kept on shouting and insisting that she did not know how to swim as we neared the jetski. By that time, two of our companions had already reached the jetski while we were paddling like dogs towards them. We had already drunk too much seawater but the strong and overpowering saline in our noses and mouths did not matter compared to the struggle to swim and return safely to shore. Thankfully and much to the relief of the spectators, we reached the shore safely - laughing and breathing heavily like mad. As what they say, what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. Except for sharks - sharks will kill you. #SecondLife #StrangeThingsDidHappen #TheFall
