New Artists! Odradek Records is thrilled to announce our first guitarist, Christina Sandsengen, and first solo cellist, Beatriz Blanco! Christina Sandsengen was educated at „The Norwegian Academy of Music“ as a classical guitar player and has also studied at the Concervatorio Superior de Música Manuell Castillo in Spain. After Christina finished her studies in Norway she travelled to France to take lessons in Paris with Gérard Abiton. She has played in The Norwegian Opera, in England, Sweden, Turkey, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore and has participated in many masterclasses with international guitarists such as Aniello Desiderio, Fabio Zanon and Eliot Fisk. She appeared on Turkish CNN where she performed with classical guitar. She is running „Oslo Gitarskole“ which is a school in Oslo that focuses on classical guitar. Praised by critics and audiences alike for her passion and musicality, Beatriz Blanco is part of a new generation of Spanish musicians. She has performed as a chamber musician and soloist with orchestra in many major European Concert Halls. Her upcoming engagements include playing the Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations with the Orchestra of RTVE, the Elgar Concerto with the Argovia Philharmonic at the Tonhalle Zürich and her recital with the Italian pianist Federico Bosco in Solitär Salzburg. Beatriz plays an instrument of C.Pierray (1720) on loan thanks to the help of the August Pickhardt Foundation.
