New Job Quality Engineer - 465717 Industry: Manufacturing and Production Job Type: Permanent Location: Cumbria, England Salary: £25000 - £30000 per annum Job Title: Quality Engineer Location: Cumbria Salary: £25k - £30k Purpose of the Role: To support the company in its achievement of strategic objectives through the provision of a technically strong Quality support function, involving both assurance and control aspects. You will be involved in projects and day to day support of both internal and external customers/suppliers. There will be an emphasis on the reduction of defects through rational improvement and adherence to established process controls. Key Responsibilities: To provide Inspection support on at risk processes To assist in the Technical and Product Development Teams with NPI activities To facilitate an increase in the knowledge and use of appropriate Quality tools within Improvement & Corrective Action teams To act on behalf of the Quality Manager as sign off authority for customer concerns responses To assist with the development and use of appropriate statistical techniques for process control and improvement To maintain departmental and site Quality metrics & Key Performance Indicators (KPI) To produce dimensional reports for internal and external customers To create and manage a site pFMEA programme Assist senior inspectors with Measurement System Analyses Quality Responsibilities: To understand the importance of maintaining a high quality service and output To follow instructions and procedures to be required standards/operating procedures Always demonstrate a right first time approach To always check the quality of the work produced To seek opportunities to improve standards and quality To champion quality improvement projects and teams To maintain and promote a quality ethos within the team Technical Skills Required Quality Awareness of AS9100, TS16949 & ISO 9001:2000 Understanding & Implementation of Quality Tools: FMEA, APQP, Control Plan, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Poke-Yoke etc
