New Job Quality Engineer - PTR14/597 Industry: Engineering Job Type: Permanent Location: Birmingham, England Salary: £27500 - £28000 per annum + benefits Quality Engineer Birmingham to £28k+ ben Our client specialise in the design and manufacture of a range of special purpose equipment for global supply, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, articulate and highly self motivated Quality Engineering professional to complement their highly professional and successful team. Based in Birmingham (although relocating to Coventry in early 2015), the successful candidate will join an established and focussed team committed to the volume manufacture and supply of manufactured solutions for a diverse range of heavier engineering applications on a global scale. Working Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am - 12.30pm, the successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in ensuring that the Companys products are fit for purpose and meet customer expectations, demanding the interrogation of internal and external feedback on product quality, including liaison with customers to include the occasion site visits to overseas customers, if and when required. Applicants should be able to provide evidence of successful Six Sigma project implementation within a manufacturing environment and will also possess a good working knowledge of modern systems and philosophies - including but not limited to: ISO9000, TQM, APQP, PPAP and Lean Manufacturing principles. You will undertake investigation and reporting on both customer quality issues using 8D visual reporting and on internal quality issues during the assembly process. You will perform In process inspection, audits and data collection and CMM operation, with regular supplier and customer liaison required. To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged the successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of general engineering / machining / power press operations and be educated to at least ONC or equivalent. You will possess the ability to think laterally, whilst remaining calm under pressure and able to adopt a flexible approach to all aspects of the role. Good communication skills, particularly the ability to influence and persuade others and being fully computer literate with all Microsoft Office applications is also essential for the role.
