As a Software Development Manager, you will be working on a product-focused, cross-functional, Agile product team, building new products and features that will be used by new and existing customers. Responsibilities: Leads the design, development, and maintenance of new and existing products through the full development life cycle Performs day-to-day management, project management, intergroup communication, quarterly and annual performance reviews, & management by objective (MBO) planning and assessments Gathers and synthesizes project requirements, develops project implementation plans, & guides projects through the full development life cycle Develop project implementation plans, including project schedules, person-power loading, cross-team interaction, and critical paths Consults with other departments on project status, proposals, and/or technical issues Consults with engineering/architecture staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements Grows technical team members through strong leadership engagement Acts as an agent of change Requirements: BS/MS in computer science, MIS, or equivalent Proven ability to lead staff of senior software engineers Verifiable track record of meeting deadlines in a frequent release cycle 5+ years experience in software development teams 2+ years experience in a software development management and leadership role, ideally as a software development manager Solid understanding of Agile processes Experience with software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle Gathers and synthesizes project requirements Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks Manages own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals Strong verbal and written communication skills Enables coworkers to grow and succeed through feedback, instruction, and encouragement Effectively liaises across departments to accomplish tasks and projects Proven ability to understand complex distributed systems Ability to work independently Examines data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve problems
