New Media - New Politics is a three-part workshop series for women who have the interplay of social media platforms and policies to the content. It gives women the knowledge and the tools to act within these new forms of political participation and thereby shape the political landscape. We experiment directly on the PC with new media, discuss , learn and share knowledge. We sight social media profiles of politicians, do internet research on current issues, focuses on the influence of Facebook & Co on political movements, talk about e-participation. The influence of new media as a source of information increases continuously. We get a lot of information on political events off the web; politicians often use social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to communicate and to publish their statements. Political and social movements are forming quickly, disseminate information fast and act targeted. In the three workshops the topic politics and new media is worked up. The themes “politicians on social media”, “e-voting” and “organization in social media” are addressed and dealt with in the meetings. All interested women are welcome to join. The workshops are for free. Registration is not required.
