New Norm This is a new norm – but some things stay the same I am still a badass Mommy! Walking into the garage today I was startled by this HUGE bug and yelled out for Jesse to HELP! Jesse ran out and I told him to squish it! Jesse and I went back and forth like a silent movie comedy act As we both refused to squish this HUGE bug as it as escaping. WHAT??? WAIT?? This is a freaking huge bug??? I suddenly realized that was Sam’s role in our small world. Sam - the adventurer Sam - the helper Sam - the bug slayer In fact I had more than one mommy be so glad Sam was there with them on their family Costco trip. Sam - the lifter Sam - the carrier Sam gave… and he gave… and he gave… until he had no more to give. Even Sam in heart failure - he GAVE My Sam came home after a month in the hospital and apologized for not helping me unload the car. WHAT??? WAIT?? Sam was a giver to the end. HOWEVER - My Jesse has been a slayer of bigger things MUCH…. MUCH bigger things! Bigger than bugs or insects! My Jesse is eclipsing from a big shadow…… A very big shadow and lifelong Sam shadow My Jesse has been stanch, stellar and strong! (And the shadow proves the sunshine!) And the crazy thing is Jesse is as tall as me…………… WHAT??? WAIT?? Jesse may be as tall, but I am still the badass mom And – FYI - I am the one who squished the bug (Just saying) This is a new norm – but some things stay the same
