New Pedestrian Signs Installed to Increase Visibility of Crosswalk - TopicsExpress

New Pedestrian Signs Installed to Increase Visibility of Crosswalk Locations. This week traffic operations began installing new signs at pedestrian crossing around Lake Hollingsworth and Lake Morton. The new colorful signs remind motorists that they are required to STOP and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. The fine for breaking this law...$164.00 per Florida Statute 316.130. The new signs are being added to existing crosswalk signage, and in some locations, replacing older black and white signs. The team will continue to add these new signs to non-signalized pedestrian crosswalks throughout the City. PLEASE, if you see a pedestrian waiting at a crosswalk, STOP and let them clear the roadway before proceeding. Thanks to our team of installers Gary Griffiths and Chris Lyon with our Public Works department. LakelandPD Alert Today Florida City of Lakeland Public Works
