New Sunday starter tip: pump a classic album you havent heard in years. Nothing like making breakfast and getting ready for a day out while you struggle to remember the lyrics to songs you used to be able to scream along to in a drunken haze. Origin Of Symmetry was never my favorite Muse album growing up, as I preferred the consistency in sound that they displayed in Absolution. Few years down the track though, and I cant get enough of the bipolar insanity of this collection. Bouncing from the soft lovey dovey-ness of tracks like Bliss, to the screeching edges of Citizen Erased and then back again is a trip to say the least. Speaking of Bipolar, I love how Matt Bellamy writes songs about pretty much nothing except the cosmic universe and Orwellian sci-fi dystopia, yet repeatedly uses them as metaphors for falling in love. If you arent a Muse fan, heres the best place to start. If you are a Muse fan, heres a solemn reminder that theyll never be as amazing as they were in the first half of the 00s (hahaha). digest it again, and smile for what once was.
