New audio source from BC proshot leak. The previous rip I posted - TopicsExpress

New audio source from BC proshot leak. The previous rip I posted last week was generated from transcoded mkv files. This new rip is sourced directly from a copy of the same set of DVDs that last weeks mkv files originated from, so the new one eliminates one transcode stage. This is the most untouched source available without having access to the VHS tapes, or a new conversion generated from the VHS tapes. A few things to note: Theyre not lossless files. The person or persons who did the initial transfer from VHS > DVD didnt use the PCM (lossless) option that is included in the DVD specification, but instead used Dolby AC3 2 channel stereo @ 48000 hz and 256 kb/sec bitrate (comparable to the quality level of the 256 kbs MP3 files LP/nugs offer). The files linked here are a direct stream copy of that audio source (no transcode required thanks to FFMPEG tool and the -acodec copy flag). Secondly: .AC3 files do not allow for ID3 tagging. Song names are included in the file names though (similar to the naming scheme LP/nugs uses). Finally, this file-type (.ac3) isnt universally supported. Some phones/portable players/car stereos with media file support/etc will play them, others will not. iDevice users will probably need to use VLC to play them. The idea with these files is not convenience/universal support. The idea is to provide as raw/untouched of a source to the community. Once you have them if you need additional features/compatibility I suggest converting to another codec; i.e. FLAC or ALAC. The integrity of the audio stream will be maintained; you can tag; and youll have wider compatibility. The trade-off is larger file sizes. If you do go this route please dont trade them/distribute unless you explicitly explain that they did not originate from a lossless source!!! Enjoy :D
