There is a science organization known as the Maria Circuit which controls the illegal acts of transforming regular people into supernatural beings in order to rid the world of crime and disaster. The Maria Circuit has captured and altered many beings, some that didnt even make it, but I will only disclose a few survivors and their newest abilities: Eren Jaeger (submitted by electroshock therapy) -- the ability to see the souls of the dead or dying Levi Ackerman (beaten and skinned) -- the ability to move objects with his mind Hanji Zoe (captured) -- the ability to influence others mindset Jean Kirschtein (shot in the back of the neck with a sedate dart) -- the ability to see intentions of a criminal There are many others. The humans altered are now under attack by the government, considered enemies and alien to the world, only to have some tormented and chained inside the worst world prison they could manage, known as the Sinners of Sina Confinement. Humans arent a weapon. But theyll still create chaos when someone has their life in their hands.]
