New for SolidCAM... Before getting into some new recordings for iMachining, lets first take a look at the SolidCAM Professor videos series called Jumpstart - the easy way to learn SolidCAM. In this series, the programming of a simple cover is performed step by step using some of SolidCAMs 2.5D Milling technologies. For the fifth step, a Pocket operation is added to the CAM-Part. Like the previous Profile operation, a single edge is picked during the geometry selection and the chain is closed using Auto-constant Z. The 6 mm (0.25 in) end mill is chosen for the operation from the Part Tool Table. The tool is set to perform a Helical entry into the pocket and a Contour strategy is used for cutting. After the roughing, the tool will take a finish pass on both the Wall and Floor to remove the excess offset material.
