Software Engineer We have an opening vacancy for a motivated Operational Systems (OSS) Engineer with these criteria: Telecommunications/Systems/Software Engineering degree and exposure to network technologies with between 1 to 3 years experience. Applicants must be comfortable working with GNU/Linux systems and have Java/perl application development experience. Ideally you’ll be be familiar and skilled in the following areas: Understanding of the SLDC and associated development/testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) Thorough understanding and practical knowledge of Object Oriented Design and design patterns Familiarity with a Linux console, associated tools and package management systems- Working knowledge of Mercurial/git revision control tools And you also must have: Experience in Linux system automation with bash/perl Working knowledge of MVC frameworks Strong TCP/IP networking skills and knowledge of enterprise network technologies (ie. MPLS/VPLS) Worked in a Telco or ISP building provisioning and assurance tools and systems Knowledge of industry standards such as the TMForum Frameworx Experience with Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Camel, Apache ServiceMix Applicants must flexible and adaptive, able to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.
