And I am sure we could learn a lot from them, and the home owners there I am sure already have. Over the last 10 years the amount of energy converted and retained by thermal collectors has doubled. Whos buying this solar powered heat? Its question like the one above that home owners have to start asking themselves, along with many more, there are companies collecting and storing electricity from solar power and nobody really knows how much it has cost them, how much is reserved, how much their selling it to the power companies for, this information should be made public, this would give homeowners a chance to do some comparable shopping. When people have more facts in front of them, they are making the bettor decisions that end up saving money on long term concerns. But the even bigger problem is getting people more involved and educated about the choices they have the facts behind them and this is where the Government should play a big part in helping people get the facts and numbers of available energy resources. Another big problem is the energy corporations have this information and are not sharing it with the public, they know the value of this data and dont want people acting independent over energy solutions, they want to be the place to go with energy solutions, there all about the same thing this country has had since the invention of the word monopoly, if you control the energy you control the cost, and this is where a revolution of sorts needs to take place. Home owners are locked into a do as the energy corporations say mode. But that is not the last say in the matter, there are plenty of systems and equipment to solar power you home, do your own conversion, collect your own power, store it and cut your ties completely if you like with the energy monsters. But it takes time, some money and the willingness to get the job done. A certain amount of learning is involved too, but these are small hurdles if this is challenged at the community level, also a lot of money can be saved when a community gets involved, well for the readers of this article, youve got some thinking to do.
