Groot Aub resident Gregory Kangandjera, who allegedly killed his girlfriend by strangling her to death with his bare hands at the settlement some four years ago, on Tuesday denied any involvement in the alleged murder incident. Groot Aub is a settlement located some 50 kilometres south of the capital. The 35-year-old Kangandjera denied committing the alleged murder when he entered a plea of not guilty to the three counts of murder, assault, defeating/obstructing or attempting to defeat or obstruct the course of justice at the start of his trial before High Court Judge Nate Ndauendapo here on Tuesday. Kangandjera entered his ‘not guilty’ plea in the presence of his government-funded defence lawyer Joshua Kaumbi. Shortly after Kangandjera pleaded ‘not guilty’ to all charges, the trial was ordered to stand down until Wednesday morning as per agreement reached between the accused persons defence lawyer and the prosecuting team’s representative, State Advocate Palmer Khumalo...
