News Letter 9/03/2013 Well I hope this finds everyone getting ready for AMHR nationals, this time of year always inspires me to reflect on the horses I have seen in person and some of those I have only seen in the Journal. As usual there are a lot of good horses that I know of that are coming to compete and this year is going to be really tough to be a winner in any class. I sure hope that never stops as the show and the horses in it just keep getting better and better in my eyes. It bodes well for our industry as a whole and those that love these little horses in particular. Good Luck to everyone that will be going to Tulsa. It may be a little hot, so be sure and take that into account for the horses and people alike. The competition is going to be even hotter. Farm News Well, we had a good year this year as far as the quality of the foals born with a majority of fillies and a few really good colts. It was a lot more fun this year with the number of babies being way down, I even got to get some sleep once in a while waiting on them. We were looking forward with anticipation to the second crop of Majic (Rhapsody’s Majestic Reign) babies this next year. After the fantastic year his babies from last year had with all the Champion of Champion wins (21 at last count ) in the different regions we could only hope that there would be a repeat of that kind of quality in year 2. We were not disappointed to say the least, we ended with 2 colts and 4 fillies out of Majic this year and boy are we excited about them. Majic X Stardust (2010 Congress Grand Champion Mare as a weanling) Cherryville Majic’s Elegant Reflection – ASPC filly that looks just like her Momma Majic X Ms Wiser (producer of multiple AMHR national champions) Cherryville Majic’s Kachina Doll – An ASPC & AMHR wild colored pinto filly that is an awesome little girl! Majic X Rhythm (Multiple National Champion Black & White Mare) Cherryville Majic’s Uptown Girl – an awesome ASPC & AMHR filly that should follow in her sister from last years footsteps and clean up the Champion of Champion classes this coming year Majic X Vickie (awesome Rock E bred mare) - Cherryville Majic’s Gidget – a beautiful bay filly that is so refined it is scary! Majic X Ultra - Cherryville Majic’s Witch Doctor – who is a roan ASPC colt that is coming together well and is going to be awesome in the Shetland classes next year. Majic X Riata (Rio De Oro Daughter) Cherryville Majic’s Bandit – a neat little long legged, very refined colt that is going to make an awesome gelding for someone. Majic by far the best stallion we have owned in years and as most of you know we have owned quite a few. LOL He is out-producing himself in the breeding pen which for us is exactly what we want as we are breeders first and show people second. All of the listed babies above will be at Nationals in Tulsa for folks to look at and for Jose to show this year at Nationals!!! Closing I hope everyone does well at Nationals and can handle the heat I am sure is going to be a concern this year. Be sure to hydrate your horses and yourselves this durn heat can be a real killer. See everyone there!!! Come by and see us at the National Show in Tulsa it is going to be a lot of fun!!!! John & Cindy Cherry Cherryville Farms cherryvillefarms 281 898 1248
