***News Release*** Yesterday morning, around 12:45 a.m. UPD officers were called to a residence in the 1600 block of Sunset Ave. by a concerned neighbor. The neighbor saw flashlights from inside his neighbors house, and knew that the neighbor wasnt home. When officers arrived , they too saw the flashlights, and surrounded the house. Dispatch received a call from a shooting on Genesee St. in south Utica. This was quickly found to be unfounded, and officers were able to verify that the call came from the residence they had surrounded. It was believed that the suspects tried to lure the police from the scene. After some time, they were able to convince a man to exit through a window, and two other men were located inside the basement. They are charged with the following: Arrested: Robert Holmes (29) Hubbell St Utica (left) Charges: Burglary 2nd- C felony Possession of Burglars tools-misdemeanor Petit Larceny-misdemeanor Samuel Thompson (18) Conkling Ave Utica (middle) Charges: Burglary 2nd- C felony Petit Larceny-misdemeanor Alexander Walker (18) Whitesboro St Utica (right) Charges: Burglary 2nd- C felony Petit Larceny-misdemeanor Possession of Burglars tools-misdemeanor False Reporting an Incident-misdemeanor **Note** All crimes in this release are alleged, and all person named are innocent until proven guilty
