News Traders are at it again!! A particular Goan who masquerades as a journalist, deliberately distorted Goa CM Manohar Parrikars words at a public function. He reported them as Mr. Parrikar publicly suggested that entrepreneurs starting an industrial unit suffered an ordeal worse than that experienced by a raped woman. Some self-serving Womens organisations in Goa jumped at this opportunity to gain some cheap publicity and organised protests. Now, I personally know at least FOUR different people who attended that particular meet and had heard Mr. Parrikars actual words, which were as follows. According to Atul Pai Kane, a Goan entrepreneur who was present at the meet in question, Mr. Parrikar had said that an IIM professor who was conducting Entrepreneur courses informed him that a student asked him (the IIM professor, not Parrikar) this question; Quote: Sir, you are asking us to be entrepreneurs . But when we set up a unit, we have to deal with 26 inspectors while if you commit a most gruesome crime like murder or rape, you have to deal with only one inspector. Unquote. Now, can someone please tell me what exactly is wrong with what Mr. Parrikar said? And how does it translate to ‘publicly suggesting that entrepreneurs suffer an ‘ordeal’ worse than a rape? The truth is, Indian Mainstream Media has no morals. Nor does it have any credibility left. All it is trying to do is to desperately create controversies to specifically show the BJP leaders in a bad light. The recent controversy about Dr. Harsh Vardhan’s seven year old blog, this deliberate distortion of Mr. Parrikar’s words, all reek of the desperation of the mainstream media to remain relevant in the face of changed realities. Paapi pet ka sawaal, as they say in Hindi!!
