News from Board Chairman, Rupert C. Chowins, O.D.: Greetings to all in our NOOR family, From where I sit, the SLO NOOR free clinic is thriving and doing very well. We continue to provide critical care to the underserved in our medical, eye and dental clinics. We are very proud that our wait time for medical appointments has gone from a four month wait this time last year and now is less that a week to get in, thanks to our dedicated staff on our clinic team and the volunteer providers. This is an amazing turnaround! We have also recently added a volunteer Nurse Practitioner to our team. Kelly Jeni, R.N.P. What a welcome addition, she will see patients of all types but has an affinity for women’s health issues. She will add a more consistent program for women’s health. Kelly has already has a very successful Saturday clinic and we are so grateful to her for sharing her time and skills with us.
