Next Wednesday 27th august its my grandpas birthday. Whilst usually I work pretty hard to keep my beautiful grandpa Don and my singing separate (whatever I am vocally speaking, Im no gimmick!), but around grandpas birthday the worlds collide for just a moment and thats ok and really, I am very grateful I get to continue celebrating the life of my grandparents who I was so close to and loved so much. After last weeks very moving and humbling concert with the ASO, singing at the MCG for the annual Bradman luncheon next Wednesday 27/8 will be especially poignant for me. Songs Im singing are dedicated to grandpa. Repertoire is Bellinis Casta diva (including caballetta Ah! Bello a me ritorna..) from Norma, and Rossinis Una voce poco fa from Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina) in the original key of E.
