Next time youre at church and see the giant statue of a crucified Jesus on the wall this is a little bit of what your God has to say about idol worship. (Presbyterians exempt---they get this right in their churches) Leviticus 26:1 “You shall not make idols for yourselves or erect an image or pillar, and you shall not set up a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God. Exodus 20:1-15 ...And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, ... 1 Corinthians 10:14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. Leviticus 19:4 Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God. Isaiah 42:8 I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols. 2 Kings 17:12 And they served idols, of which the Lord had said to them, “You shall not do this.”
