Next up on our list of artists is Galloway Photography. Galloway Photography is the husband & wife team of Dave and Beth Currie, who are based in Glentrool Village. Their photography is probably best described as “inspired by nature”, a broad remit which encompasses capturing the awesome natural beauty of this area. This could be literally, as a landscape shot of a stunning mountain vista or a wildlife photo of a red squirrel or roaring stag, or figuratively, through the use of close-up or long exposure photography. Living in the only village within Galloway Forest Dark Skies Park, they are also in prime position for night photography as evidenced by some of their stunning starscapes. Mainly run by Dave, as Beth is now increasingly busy with her other passion of crochet jewellery, Galloway Photography will be exhibiting at Tolbooth Art Centre in Kirkcudbright from July 30th to August 17th where you can see a fantastic selection of framed prints in the gallery. Sadly this means that we will only have a couple of pieces here with us at Venue 40, so add the Tolbooth to your list of must visits for the trail!
