Nice news to come across in The Oregonian newspaper, right after I thought I felt the ground shake a bit: Geologists now say the Pacific Northwest is due for a major subduction zone earthquake at any time. Engineers with the state say older brick buildings will not be able to withstand what they believe will be a magnitude 8 or 9 quake [TERROR sets in]. The ground is going to shake for a long time and its going to shake really strongly. What youre going to see happen is these buildings just collapse. And when that happens, lives will be lost.
