Nigeria probably has the highest number of churches per square mile in the world. If half of the churches dotting every corner of the country were cottage industries, Nigeria would have been ahead of China in small-scale manufacturing. Most times, I wonder what values these religious enterprises add to the lives of Nigerians that make people troop to such places with enthusiasm. If you have the patience to listen to some of the preachers, they sound more like conmen and magicians. Just thinking.
