Nigerians have short memory and get carried away very easily. In 1999, when OBJ was elected president people hailed behold Messiah who gave us democracy in 1979.... a wonderful democrat....a disciplinarian...a born again etc. Contrary to their expectation, they discovered otherwise. OBJ proved not to be democrat but a dictator who has no regard for the rule of law. Third term became his agenda. It became obvious that he did not hand over in 1979 willingly but as a result of fear of being overthrown by the Northern block. Because Nigerians were so desperate to have democracy, they were carried away by the democracy craze. Now, Buhari has come with a record that some Nigerians seem to adore without asking questions. They are again carried away with the craze of corruption as if governance is all about fighting corruption, without asking questions about the strength of character of this individual who sees himself as I am too big for any person to question. There are signs of disregard for the law as we saw in OBJ. This is a man that still lives in the past without knowledge of true workings of things in today Nigeria apart from the corruption that he perceives. He is coming to fight corruption by jailing corrupt politicians. If he chooses to jail corrupt politicians then we all know that APC will cease to exist because the sponsors of APC are the chief corrupt politicians. I cannot say PDP is better as it concerns corruption, mind you. He that goes to equity should go with clean hands. We cannot replace one evil with a worse evil. It is obvious that there are a lot of hidden agenda of either the Northern block, a caucus of APC or Tinubu. Common knowledge tells us that fighting corruption is not just “jailing corrupt officials” but putting structures on ground to prevent it. Does Buhari have any plan to put intelligent structures on ground to prevent corruption? Is he intelligent enough to achieve it? Can a man who has no memory handle affairs of this country? We all know that a persons phone number is like his name in present day culture. If a man can forget his phone number that he has been using for about 10years, what explanation can any person give for that? He forgets his running mates name; he does not know the full meaning of INEC; etc. If it took Buhari two weeks to remember where his certificates are or to produce his certificates then Nigerians should think again. That was a simple matter, yet it took yelling and shouting to get him to produce his certificates. That is flagrant disregard of the feelings of Nigerians. Today, people are condemning Fayose for his advert. During the fuel subsidy protest did persons not carry coffin in the name of GEJ? Was there a media row? Why is Fayoses advert raising dust? They stoned GEJ but no person called names. But if it was Buharis convoy that was attacked hell would have been let loose. Nigerians, think well.
