Night full of unexpected treats when friend Paul Dickinson sat with the house band at the Roma tonight! Didnt expect to be out tonight to begin with, and playing was all that was on my mind once knew Id be out, but it all began with walking in and finally meeting the lovely Laura Schiavoni Castine, in person and in 3D, as well as a couple of her dear friends! Just when Im sure it isnt gonna get any better than that, in walks Parker Wheeler to blow the joint up with the house band. As Im taking THAT in, the crew from the Wantu Blues Jams walks (stumbles?) in, and I find myself getting set up along side Chris Noyes, Rick King, Dave Guillmette... jeezus, talk about stacking the deck! We opened with the lovely Lise Miller for a few ripping numbers from her, and then we got to have Chris front us for a few more before Dave Glannon just shredded the room with a short set. EXACTLY what I needed!!! Many thanks to John Schiavoni for his hospitality, and Laura, I hope we get to see you again soon with Linda Ann Papa!
