Nine years ago I warned that dictators always expanded when ignored. I was told that Putin was Russias problem and I agreed. But I also replied that eventually he would be a regional problem and then a global problem if no one stood up to him. His invasion of Georgia in 2008 was the first clear proof and it was obvious he wouldnt stop with that if he suffered no consequences. With the downing of the Malaysian airliner and 300 innocents killed by Russia-created and Russia-armed (and Russian...) fighters in Ukraine, Putin officially became the worlds problem. And instead of backing down since then, he has increased activity in Ukraine. Dictators dont ask why? do something. They ask why not? So far, after rounds of sanctions, the free world has no good answer as Ukraine burns.
