Nit-picking the original Star Trek series: Im no chemist, but I have a chemistry question. In Obsession, Kirk and Spock both refer to some (presumably as-yet-undiscovered) element called dikironium. Am I crazy to assume that the prefix di indicates that dikironium is, in fact, a molecule? If it is, in fact, a molecule, can it be an element? In the future, is it possible that there is an element known as kironium, and that dikironium is a molecule consisting of two kironium atoms?
