Niverville Pool Fundraising Campaign Nearing Start (The new water park will be located in the arena grounds as part of the Community Campus Project) The Niverville pool fundraising committee will soon be ramping up its campaign to raise $1.7 million for an outdoor pool and splash park on the arena grounds. The committee is currently putting together a support team for the campaign, and wants to put a focus on making a personal connection for the donors. They are also planning several events such as a door-to-door campaign. We have a special events committee established and were going to be doing a gala fundraiser in the spring, says Chairperson Clare Braun. Theyve also talked about doing a social in the fall, and weve already had a fundraiser at William Dyck and Sons. Although the fundraising campaign isnt expected to reach another gear until the third week of October, the aquatic centre project has already received some donations. Just from the few community fundraisers that weve done so far were at about $10,000, explains Braun. And again thats just businesses on their own doing things, and nothing from the committee itself in terms of what we plan to do on an event basis. In addition to the community hosted fundraisers there have been some discussions about large donations. We have had some interest for the $250,000 naming rights, Braun notes. We have an interested family there that has not confirmed yet but there is strong interest there. Weve had some business people speak to larger donations upwards of $100,000 or $150,000, we just havent gone to get it yet. Braun adds he has lived in Niverville his entire life and remembers a time when the community didnt have an arena or baseball diamonds, so the prospect of having an outdoor pool and splash park is very exciting for him.
