Boy, im am impressed! Question: When Jesus would have said this while He was still living in Israël, My Name can fill a footballstadium in the heart of the USA, 2000 YEARS after im gone to heaven. Nobody would believe it. So here we are, 1965 USA. America was busy building up their lives with modern technology, such as tv. Everyone had a radio device. The American people were tired of the war and longed for better times, but soon They would be involved in another terrible conflict, called The Vietnam war. In those days, the Vice president of the country was Richard Nixon. The Americans were religious. They went to church and all across the United Nation, you can find churchbuildings, BUT... The fire and passion was not present. In those days, you had no singinchoirs, no musicians, no Sundayschools, no bibelstudy, no nothing. Christianity was silently present. Seems like The people were more interested in their own daily lives, filled with the daily struggles to make a living. Then...something happened. An event That SHOOK the WHOLE NATION and even the GOVERNMENT could not ignore the fact that JESUS was in da house. The president had to Leave His seat of power, to come down to the city and LISTEN TO THE VOICE of the LORD. It would be an embarresment not to show up. And an Anti smart political move. So he used the Name of Jesus for a political benefit: The fight against Communism. The president figured out, This Jesus and Christianity, seems to have so much power over the people, that a strong Christian conviction will protect us from negative Influences and fear, that the communistic threat brings. The American people MUST BE totally One, under the mighty Flag and banner off the Cross!! Yesss! We must be the ultimate Nation under God and be PROUD OF IT!! ( So Jesus provided in a welcome political move and His Name Became the mainprotection against alien invaders and other negative doctrines, that could ruin the country and precious freedom) So something happened.. Something that no other religion or cultural god had ever done. The Name of Jesus is indeed Unique. Never before in the history off the land, did something like THIS occur. No wonder that some political influencials, wanted Jesus to be the Head of a political campaine in those biblical days. But Jesus is not interested in earthly Goverments and politics. He is the One that SUMMONDS THEM.. to come to Him! like in this story. There was a simple young boy, called Billy. Billy Graham. He wanted to be a baskettball player. He grew up as a farmboy. His parents were believers but he had no time for this nonsense. Then he visited a tentmeeting. Ofcourse, this was about the 1940s. . Bill attented the meeting Just to obey his parents. There was no singingchoir or Nice music. No modern stuff at all. Just a simple barn on a farmyard. The preacher was full of enthusiasm and Bill got surprisingly hit in His Heart. He received the convinsion to seek God. So many years later The Lord led him to conduct a big tentrevivalmeeting in New York. This was unsusual in those days. The newspapers: like the New York times, mocked with Billy and His team. Try to discouridge the plans. This Billyboy, thinks he is the answer to all blessings, well, Billy, take your Gospell and stay away, because the New Yorkers are Not interested in you! The churchtent meetings are a faiilure Well, God had a bigger plan! Rent the Madison Square GARDEN... Shortly said the garden ( Billy held also crusades near Washington lateron, also in California) Now the garden used to be a sanctuary for high level artists. Only the biggest names would perform there, like Frank Sinatra and Elvis, Country artists and other extreem celebritys. ITS very expensive to rent the place, so the risk is high that u get stuck with financial trouble. Only the Biggest names were sure that They have enough audience to fill all the paying seats, and here comes Billy, the Evangelist..... Would Jesus be greater than them all? So Lets sum it up a little. Jesus filled up a whole New York Footballstadium, for 16 weeks in a row! The first tentmeetings were massively crowded and the Garden almost exploded with large crowds of people, who came by the hundreds of Thousands! America was totally OVERWHELMED by the Power of God and the Name of Jesus appeared bigger than the biggest names in Amusement or politics.... The president Nixon appeared on television and said, how in the world are u able to fill our stadium for somany weeks while even WE Never Were able too?? Evangelist Bill said i did not do it. Im Just a preacher. I tell the people who God is and God sends a hunger to the people so They are eager to hear the Word of the LORD. Dont underestimate the power off God.. The Name of Jesus is still wonderfull. Many big celebritys have started their musicalcareers thanks to Christ. For in His Name the people gathered around fireplaces, pianos, guitars And formed choirs... That produced great singers. Christianity brought familly s together, churches together, taught us how to love and forgive; To really care for the lost and lonely, to feed the hungry and provide in shelter for the homeless. The Goverment was very willing to provide in money and buildings to work on a Christian lifestyle, the Christian foundations of the USA. Jesus brought people together and countless off young people owe their joy, freedom and succes, to the Only loving God this World has EVER Known. The One who really cares about familly relations, who was prepared to die on a cross, to let His Purest Innocent Blood, to fall upon the EarthDust, and wipe away the curse of the first sin. Who ever believes in Him shall Never die. He is the Greatest Blessing for the whole world And all of History bows respectfully to His Name. If your life needs to be changed, than Let Him touch the dust u are made of. God never fails to amaze. Nothing is impossible if u believe the unbelievable..
