~ No eyebrows were raised when Prime Minister Chacha Nehru wanted to interact with school children and whole schools, thousands of school children were shifted to parade grounds, and lakhs of rupees from the public exchequer were spent. No murmur was heard when President Kalam crisscrossed the country on jets to speak about his fire-winged ideas to school children at the cost of crores of rupees to the state exchequer. Then why this brouhaha when Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi decides to address the school children of India on the poignant occasion of teachers day? (And no doubt, at the end of the day, when the Prime Minister has done a wonderful job of inspiring and educating them.) P.S. The only two States which tried to thwart this initiative were my West Bengal and our Tamil Nadu. While Amma had political compulsions to dismantle the so-called Guru Utsav efforts, Didi is remorseful that she hasnt been able to send #NaMo to jail by putting a rope around his waist as she had infamously claimed during her fiery election speeches.
