Thats why, on April 12, Triangle Sisters in Crime is offering a full-day workshop focused on writing craft topics. The Novelists Craft Workshop A full day of lively writing seminars is being offered April 12, 9:15 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center at 119 Ambassador Loop in Cary. The Novelists Craft is co-sponsored by the Triangle Sisters in Crime chapter and Town of Cary. Award-winning authors will present four lively seminars on craft topics that challenge writers at all levels. The workshops and instructors include: Talk the Talk. Dialogue must characterize, create suspense and tension, move the plot, sound realistic, never bore. Learn how to master this multi-tasking craft element. J. D. Allen writes books about the clash of passionate, strong willed personalities. Shes published Romantica and science fiction/fantasy, and has just finished her first mainstream thriller. Deep Point of View: Make Your Novel Come to Life. What exactly is deep POV and why is it the way to go? Well explore how POV can make character emotion fresher, deeper, and more compelling. Judith Stanton is the author of seven novels and a RITA finalist for her historical romances. Her recent contemporary suspense, A Stallion to Die For, is garnering top reviews on Amazon. Archetype, not Stereotype. Plastic, forgettable characters are a scourge of the publishing industry. This session will show you how archetypes based on patterns in the unconscious mind can be the basis for characters who disturb, charm, and fascinate your readers.
